Objectives and Learning Outcomes of the Program

At Tui Glen Farm

Confidence: Students work on skills and animal management that they may not normally have the opportunity to do on day-to-day basis

Challenging and Self Esteem:
Students will be building skills they thought were not possible in a safe and supportive environment

Respect and Trust:
Students will be learning to respect and trust their instructor during sessions

Effort:
The more effort the student puts in the more they will gain from the program

Sportsmanship:
The students are encouraged to work with each other on the program and praise their peers for their efforts

Form Relationship and Understanding:
The dynamics of a group come together over the program with amazing results and proud of what they will achieve

Listening and Concentration Skills:
Students are required to listen to instructor for results to be achieved and safety reasons (NB When Instructor is speaking Students will be expected to listen and concentrate)

Lifetime Skill:
They will have learnt skills for the rest of their lives

Introduction to Future Employment:
There are a lot of job opportunities in Farming and the Equestrian Field i.e. Tourism guide, Horse Breaker & Trainer, Stable hand, Jockey, Shepherd, Farrier etc, this gives Students an introduction into the World of Horses and Farming

We want to teach a new generation of kiwi kids about nature and create a passion for the outdoors.
